The AC690+ series is a single range of AC drives designed to meet the
requirements of more complex variable speed applications on single-motor
or integrated multi-drive systems. At the heart of the AC690+ is
a highly advanced, 32 bit microprocessor based, motor control algorithm,
to which can be added a host of control options and programmable
function blocks that allow you to tailor
the drive to meet your exact requirements. The
AC690+ "Frame K" extends the AC690+ series through 1500
HP. These designs share the same modular power assemblies as AC690+
Frames G, H and J, allowing common interchangeable spares throughout
the range. Controls are familiar too, as the Frame K shares the same
keypads, communications options programming and programming software
as the entire AC690+ Integrator Series.
Configurable
It is possible to configure the AC690+ into 4 different operating modes:
Open Loop Control
The V/Hz mode is ideal for simple speed control. The 6901 HMI is used
for setting-up programming and controlling the drive. It has been ergonomically
designed with a back-lit, 32-character,Alphanumeric display to provide
intuitive access to all functions in a logical menu-driven format.
Sensorless Vector control
The sensorless mode provides better accuracy of speed control, thanks
to the algorithm of MRAS (Model Reference Adaptive System) control.
This innovative design delivers excellent speed control (without any
feedback) based on continuous motor-modeling.
Closed Loop Flux Vector control Full Flux Vector Control is obtained by simply fitting the AC690+
with an encoder receiver Tech Box and encoder.
This guarantees 100% continuous control from zero speed, to satisfy most
demanding applications.
Regenerative control By adding an active front end (AFE) controller, energy generated
by the motor during deceleration or conditions of overhauling
load is returned to the power grid. Typical applications include in
unwinds, test stands and hoists.
