SSD Drives has launched a complete new series
of variable speed drives that includes both AC and DC technologies
with a common look and feel. Dubbed the "Integrator Series",
the drives share common programming, set-up and communications across
both AC and DC drive types.
Industrial
applications demand drive technologies of different performance
levels. Until now, this need was met with different drive types.
Simple "Volt/Frequency" control for fans and pumps and
"Sensorless Vector" or closed-loop "Flux Vector"
for more demanding applications. SSD’s 690+ AC Drive provides all
performance levels from just one product.
Induction motor control is brought to a new performance level by
the advanced high bandwidth torque and current control loops used
in both sensorless and closed loop vector modes. Full torque at
low speeds and robust trip-free response meet the most critical
demands of dynamic applications such as web processing, winders,
and high speed lifts. Electronic line shafting between drives for
precise phase-lock control can be achieved using a systems board
with a second encoder input.
The most powerful and flexible digital DC Drive on the world market.
The 590+ offers an extensive range of application software functions
(including winder control as standard) which together with a configurable
block diagram and programmable I/O create a total drive system in
a single module.
The 590+ DC drive is a total control solution. Designed into this
highly compact single module are line, field & control fuses
and contactor, with an available control transformer and blower
motor starter. This eliminates the need for specifying, sizing,
and separately mounting and wiring these control components.
AC & DC share common options and elements
Both AC & DC drives have identical keypads and software configuration
tools. Intuitive menu structures make setup of either drive type
simple.
Common communications "technology boxes"- (modular encapsulated
plug-on cards) are available for all popular industry protocols,
including DeviceNet, ProfiBus, Modbus, LonWorks and LINK – SSD’s
fiber optic real-time network.
Other "Tech Boxes" include those for tachometer and encoder
feedbacks. An additional "systems" option board provides
high resolution inputs, a secondary encoder input, and additional
inputs and outputs.
Function Block Programming
Each SSD Integrator Series drive has imbedded "function blocks"
that can be configured to meet the needs of a diverse range of applications.
Using this strategy each control function (such as an input, output,
PID control, gain, or even math function blocks and Boolean logic)
is represented by a free-floating Function Block.
For simple applications these blocks are pre-configured for basic
speed control, straight from the box. On more complex applications
the user has the option of interconnecting any of the function blocks
to customize the drive to the application. Additionally provided
are "Macro Blocks", pre-configured to handle the most
common applications. Complex functions such as ‘Winder Control’,
where diameter changes due to roll build-up affect speed, inertia
and web tension represent just one example of the capabilities of
the blocks.
Designed for the World Market
Integrator Series AC & DC Drives were designed to meet the
rigid requirements of both European CE marking and North American
UL and c-UL listing. Wide voltage range types provide adaptability
to international voltage standards. Integrator Series Drives are
ideally suited for OEMs serving export markets, as SSD has one build-standard
worldwide.
The 590+ DC Drive is available in package sizes ranging from 15
amps to 2700 amps (2000 HP), in both regenerative and non-regenerative
control types.
The 690+ AC Drive is available in ratings from fractional HP through
500HP, in both variable and constant torque types, for Non-Vector,
Sensorless Vector, and closed-loop (encoder required) Vector control. |
