NEW AC650S series offers affordable sensorless solution for PMAC Servo Motor drive

Parker Hannifin - SSD Drives Division has introduced the AC650S, with ratings through 7.5 kW. The AC650S is a sensorless speed control for PMAC motors like the Parker NX and EX series. When position control is not required, this combination provides a cost effective and efficient solution many applications. PMAC servo motors offer the advantages of reduced size and higher efficiency compared to AC induction motors of the same power ratings.

Parker Hannifin SSD Drives Division has announced two exciting upgrades to the successful DC590+ Integrator Series digital DC drives.

A new "Series 2" logic board provides enhanced performance and flexibility to the entire DC590+ product line, as well as a higher level of compatibility with the AC690+ series. Featuring new 32-bit control architecture, the DC590+ benefits from the same function block programming capability as Parker's versatile AC690+ AC drive. This provides users with a flexible control structure allowing a combination of functions. The new series provides additional functionality and enhanced I/O while also serving as a backward-compatible drop-in replacement for any existing DC590+ applications and configurations.

In addition, a new, more compact frame size is now available for higher HP ratings of the DC590+. The new “Size 6” drive comes in three current ratings: 1250A, 1600A, and 1950A. With input voltage offerings from 380 VAC to 690 VAC, this represents a power range of 750 HP to 1250 HP (600kW to 900kW), and can be provided as a 4-quadrant regenerative or a non-regenerative drive. Among the smallest drives of those ratings on the market, the new size is also extremely reliable and easy to install. Supplied in building-block phase modules to mount directly on your panel, or in a pre-mounted DRV model, the Size 6 is easy to install and service. Highly versatile, the drive can be wired with top or bottom AC power entry, and left or right DC output terminals. To save energy and maximize operating life, the cooling fans are switched on only when required. Built-in snubbers allow trouble-free operation even with poor power quality. Like the rest of the DC590+ product line, the Size 6 is open to popular industrial protocols, including Ethernet, Profibus, ControlNet, DeviceNet and CANopen, through available option cards. It comes with a full set of function blocks dedicated to section control, which eliminates the need for an external PLC in many applications. DSE Lite programming software is provided with each unit at no additional charge.
